Hi guys,
my name is Justas, and I'm new to this forum. I am planning to come to Netherlands next month to visit my friend and I think of trying to kitesurf here for a few days. I have visited Amsterdam one year before, and saw people kiteboard on the January 1st  (in Schellinkhout) Smiley Could you please answer few questions?
How cold it is gonna be in the end of April? Is 5/3mm wetsuit enough?
Where can I find begginer friendly spots? I only know one spot near Harderwijk, Schellinkhout and I saw that the wind is a little bit stronger in De Koog/Texel (never been there). How is the coast in that island?

thanks in advance for your answers and wish you strong wind!

A good 5/3 should do the job at the end of April. Temprature ? could be lucky with 20+ , but you can also have 10 degrees.
If you're staying in Amsterdam the closest main spots are Schellinkhout and Muiderberg

Texel is not that beginners friendly because of the waves, current and dam's

thanks for quick response. And what about depth of water in Texel/De Koog? how many meters from the shore is it possible to reach the bottom?
What about accomodation in Texel? Could you please tell what a the most affordable ways to stay overnight? I will be staying in Harderwijk, so traveling everyday is not an option I think.

At texel the water is deep right from the beach, for cheap accomidation I would suggest to go camping. If you stay in Harderwijk I wouldn't go to Texel but just stick to Strand Horst, Mirns and Workum.

You can probably stay a about 5-10 meters from the shore in Texel.
Closest by spot from Harderwijk will be Strand Horst, around 10 minutes by car
http://www.kitehigh.nl/spots/s/id/Strand%20Horst
Muiderberg, about 40 minutes by car (But you need northern wind)
http://www.kitehigh.nl/spots/s/id/Muiderberg
and Schellinkhout or Mirns, about 1 hour by car (i personally prefer Mirns)
http://www.kitehigh.nl/spots/s/id/Schellinkhout
http://www.kitehigh.nl/spots/s/id/Mirns

Strand Horst will mostly have more gusty winds, and lower average winds. (Only exception is northeastern wind)

Harderwijk is inland, which has less wind than the coastal area's...so, either bring big kites, or take your time to drive somehwere windy Smiley

and maybe you do have a  forum part or a chat on whatsapp or viber - "today we go kitesurfing to ..." to know the suitable spots, and to be sure that there will be other kitesurfers. Also, could you please suggest wakeboarding spots near Harderwijk?
Where do you watch the wind forecast? Windguru? Is it possible that windguru doesn't show wind, but there is a suitable wind in the spots?

If the forecast does'nt show any wind, you probably don't have wind.
Only if it's 25 degrees+, and there is a realy light (around 6knots +) wind from northeast you can get some thermal winds on Strand Horst starting around 17.30

Wakeboarding spots as in cableparks :
Almere - http://www.cableparkalmere.nl/
Vaassen - http://www.burnsidecablepark.nl/
Both around 30 minutes, buth Vaassen is closer
Or 10 minutes further
Nieuwegein - http://www.downunder.nl/wakepark

Ye windfinder.com and windguru.
Take a flysurfer speed 21m2 deluxe or lotus with you and the wind is always suitable Smiley
