KRU (Kiteboarding Riders United) is the union behind the WKL
KRU is the Union for the professional kiteboard riders. The union was founded by riders for the riders. The board members are Youri Zoon, Alex Pastor, Annelous Lammerts and Liam Whaley. After the 2015 season with a lot of promises and uncertainties where the riders futures were discussed, but the riders were never able to be part of the discussions. That's why we took responsibilities in our own hands. After months of research and negotiations with all the stakeholders in the sport we decided to go in our own direction. So we decided to start our own tour with the name World Kiteboarding League. Our aim is to bring the sport to the next level, to be able to do this we needed a strong management team. So we motivated a couple of people with the right motivation to support us. We asked Danny Galiart to be our interim CEO who is highly motivated, he is in the fortunate position to be able to be full-time involved. Mr. Lammerts, father of Annelous is responsible of finance, and Austin Stewart is our lawyer.
For the first time we feel save, never before there were people that took care of us, and have our interests and the sport as their main goal.
Our first possible event will be Egypt. The other events that we are planning are Caberete, Germany. And two other options are
Brazil and Argentina.
Another positive thing is that we gave a way our commercial rights for 2016 to Clean Ocean Project within 3 weeks we will go live with our website and we will tell you all about it!
For the start of this movement we started with a payoff.
