Men We started with the first round of the men, Jaime Herraiz (ESP), Gianni Aragno (ESP), Ruben Lenten (HOL) and Aaron Hadlow (UK) received a by to the next round. Martin Vari was on fire cruising through heats with front Mobes, grabs, kiteloops and so on, he won from Danny Seales (UK), Cesar Portas (ESP) and Ben Meyer (USA). Ben rode super well, he won from Jaime Herraiz (ESP) who had a day off and did not land too well, for sure he will do better in the double elimination. Christian Brouwer (HOL) won from Abel Lago but lost in the second round from Etienne Lhote, Etienne rode well with a lot of really good kiteloops, s-bends and handle passes i.e. front Mobes, KGB’s and railey to blind. Etienne won from Soufiane Hamaini (MOC), Christian Brouwer (HOL), Gianni Aragno (ESP) and lost from Martin Vari in the semi finals. Vari did very nice kiteloops, a front Mobe and a high Mobe, he also tried a double kiteloop and a front to blind but crashed pretty hard. Martin ended up in the final with Aaron. Alvaro Onieva (ESP) started good with a nice heat against Marc Ramseier, he did some nice low handle passes but in the second round he lost against Jeremie Eloy (FRA), Jeremie went for high handle passes and low kiteloops, board offs and some good grabs. In the quarter finals he went on against Ruben Lenten (HOL) and lost, Ruben cruised through several heats and ended up in third place at the end of the single elimination, he won from Mike Smith (UK), Jeremie Eloy (FRA), he lost in the semi finals from Aaron Hadlow (UK) and went on to the losers final together with Etienne Lhote, the losers final between those riders was pretty close with a lot of unhooked moves, handle passes, kiteloops and so on, Ruben took the winning place in that heat and ended third followed by Etienne Lhote in fourth place. The final went on between Aaron Hadlow and Martin Vari, both guys knew they had to sail well to beat each other. Martin went for kiteloops, backloop kiteloop, railey, a high Mobe, he did some nice unhooked rolls and tried a double kiteloop but crashed. Aaron on the other hand was not as consistent as normal in the beginning but at the end of the heat he did some good moves i.e. kiteloop, railey to blind with a handle pass and a high Mobe but not enough to beat Martin. Martin won the single elimination, followed by Aaron in second, good job guys, it was a though day at work!!!
